Muslim Preachers have defended the decision of the IEBC to set the election date as March 4th. They argued that Kibaki and Raila should be held responsible for the election date crisis. They however said that most Kenyans did not favor elections in March but had no choice due to lack of leadership from the principals. Meanwhile aspirants have until June to do their harambees or fail being registered to take part in the elections. If the elections are however held in December, the ban will take effect this month. The Elections Act requires aspirants to refrain from fund raising eight months to elections. Source: Daily Nation, Pg 32 Date: Tuesday, 20 Mar 2012 Other SummariesArchived Summaries |
