In its continual hearings the Truth Commission heard from the Colonel (Rtd) Kariuki Muhindi, who was hard pressed to explain his role in the massacre of Degodia community in Wajir. He denied that a meeting was held to plot for the murder. He insisted that they only paid a courtesy call to the District Commissioner, who briefed them on development activities and the situation on the ground.
