Kosgey â??Handled Waivers Directlyâ??

A witness told the court hearing the corruption case against suspended Industrialization minister Henry Kosgei that the minister ordered that applications for waivers on importation of vehicles older than eight years old be brought to him directly without going through the National Standards Council. The minister made the decision because the council was taking long to provide documents and criteria to guide the process among other lengthy bureaucratic issues.
