Church leaders and representatives from 56 NGOs are meeting in Eldoret to deliberate on land issues in the country. The five day meeting has cautioned the government to effectively tackle IDP resettlement and land conflicts in the region before 2012 polls. Meanwhile, more than 1700 families have been allocated land in Mt. Elgon under the Chepyuk settlement scheme.
